Prioritising Mental Health and Family: A Break from Blogging
Hello everyone,
I hope this blog post finds you well. I’m writing to share some personal news with you today.
After much deliberation, I’ve decided to take a break from writing my blog, lovearran.com, to focus on my mental health, family, and supporting men’s health initiatives.
Balancing Work, Blogging, and Mental Well-being
As you may well know if you follow my blog, Love Arran is a blog written by one man (yours truly!), I’m an engineer by day and a blogger by night. This dual role has been incredibly rewarding, but it’s also been challenging at times. Juggling the demands of a full-time job with the commitment to maintaining a blog has taken its toll on my mental well-being.
In recent months, I’ve noticed myself feeling increasingly stressed, overwhelmed, and burnt out. I’ve had difficulty concentrating, finding motivation, and enjoying the things I used to love. These signs have made it clear to me that I need to prioritize my mental health and my family.

Taking a Pause to Recharge and Refocus
Stepping away from my blog is not an easy decision, but it’s the right one for me and my family at this time. I need to give myself the space and time to recharge, refocus, and rediscover my passion for web design and writing and spend more quality time with my loved ones.
Addressing the Urgent Need for Men’s Mental Health Support
I also want to take this opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of men’s mental health.
Some may know, I recently participated in Movember, a global charity that raises funds for men’s health initiatives. The statistics are alarming: globally, the rate of male suicide is significantly higher than that of women. Too many men are feeling lost, alone, and struggling in silence. Movember is aiming to reduce the rate of male suicide by 25% by 2030, and I want to help them get there.
How Movember Helps Men
According to Movember, “How and why suicides happen is incredibly complex. What we do know is that helping men establish better social connections can improve their overall wellbeing and reduce the risk of suicide. In our mission to make lasting change and dramatically reduce the rate of male suicide, Movember funds community-based early intervention programs that address mental health through a male lens.”
Please Donate to Movember
If you can I encourage you to visit my Movember page and make a donation:

Together, we can make a difference.
Thank you for your understanding and support. I want to assure you that I am not abandoning my blog altogether. I intend to return in the new year, refreshed and ready to share more of my thoughts and experiences with you.
In the meantime, please continue exploring lovearran.com. There are many blog posts waiting to be discovered, covering a wide range of topics from travel and food to personal reflections and life lessons.
I wish you all a wonderful Christmas and a happy New Year.
Sincerely,
Jamie Allan
