Description of the Property

Nestled on the shores of Lamlash, Stonewater House Vegan Bed and Breakfast welcomes you to its cosy embrace. The comfortable and inviting property overlooks Lamlash Pier and the serene Holy Isle, offering a tranquil escape from the bustle of everyday life. This delightful haven is a gateway to explore the Isle of Arran, renowned as “Scotland in Miniature” for its diverse landscapes, abundant wildlife, and captivating beaches.

Carol and Jules Lee, the passionate owners of Stonewater House, embarked on a remarkable journey in 2018. They transformed this B&B into the island’s first plant-based/vegan retreat. Having embraced a vegan lifestyle in 2017, their passion for this healthy way of living inspired them to share it with their guests. Carol’s completion of Dr. T. Colin Campbell’s Plant-Based Nutrition Certificate Program at Cornell University further fuels their dedication to providing nourishing plant-based meals.

Stonewater House offers more than just a place to rest your head. It plans to host a variety of events, including yoga and meditation retreats, nature walking holidays, vegan lifestyle introductions, poetry and writing retreats, and more. The Lees’ love for Arran and their commitment to their guests shine through in every detail.

A delightful place to stay on a beautiful island. This was a quiet, comfortable B&B in a lovely location overlooking the bay and Holy Isle. The owners were very welcoming, and the vegan breakfasts were interesting and plentiful.

Amazing experience of hospitality, comfort, and good food for vegans and non-vegans alike. We loved our stay at Stonewater. Carol and Jules went out of their way to make sure our visit was a success – they provided some great travel advice regarding local restaurants, hikes, and even other places to stay in our next destinations. The rooms were also very comfortable with great shower water pressure! The reading library has some great resources for exploring the island. But above everything, the beautiful breakfasts that they prepare each morning are outrageously good….AND filling! We were sadly unable to eat every delicious thing they prepared, but the chia pudding breakfast “starter,” vegan haggis, and pancakes are standouts. You can tell they care so much about their guests and hospitality. We can’t recommend this place enough.

Exceptional. It is a great place to find peace and quiet. A very nice couple and very helpful👌, the room very clean, and the smell of the bathroom soaps was very nice. Near the beach, I booked for 2 nights, but the Stonewater House encouraged me to add one more day. I recommend this house strongly.
